I believe if it wasn’t for those people that destroy companion animals every day in Tokushima, I wouldn’t have been able to go on.  THEY have given me hope, THEY have given me determination,  THEY have shown me the gratitude that the community hasn’t.

In April, 2009 HEART was granted “DANTAI JOTO”.  A system in which Animal Control transfers animals to our organization for rehoming.  Since then we have rescued 68 dogs and 2 cats from the “death truck”. I go out there every week to pick up animals. We talk about the animals that have come in, we discuss the animals that we can take out, we laugh at the happy stories of the animals we have saved and sometimes we cry about the ones we couldn’t.  They are human beings and deserve as much respect.

I have given my life to the dogs and cats in Tokushima, as have they.  We have done it in different ways. 

For them, I am so grateful.....
