Pumpkin was rescued from death row at the hokenjo in April, 2008. He was about 5 months old; a sweet, quiet, little dog. Boy, has he grown...and grown... and grown!! He is now a 10 month old, energetic, playful, 20 kilo dog that is always looking for a bit of fun. We are often left puzzled and amused by Pumpkin’s antics. He does the funniest things that are sure to get a laugh. He is a little hard to control (all in the name of fun and games!) but he is slowly learning not to pull on the lead during walks and that mouthing as an invitation to play is not okay in the human world!
We do our best to give our animals the best life we can while they are with us and I wish we had more time to spend with each dog. It tugs at my heart when it is time for Pumpkin to go back to his kennel, his eyes always plead for just a little more time to run and play with his human friends. It helps to think we gave him a chance at life and that we are a stepping stone to an even better one. A life with a big garden to play in, lots of toys, and most of all, a family to love and call his very own.
