(Thank you to B.M. for translating our Japanese blog post into english!)
Yesterday, our second dog from HEART went to its forever home overseas. His name is Davey. Davey is a dog rescued from Fukushima after the Great East Japan Earthquake. He is a very friendly dog who loves people. His new owner is a lady from Hawaii who came to HEART twice last year to volunteer with us. Her first trip was to Fukushima for one month, and the second trip was to help us out at HEART for 2 months.
The first time she met Davey was during her first stay in Fukushima when Davey was rescued. Davey came to us at HEART after that, and they were reunited a few months later when she came back to Japan to volunteer with us at HEART. During her 2 month stay, she decided to adopt Davey.
As some of you may know, bringing animals into Hawaii is very complicated due to various regulations and procedures. It took close to half a year to have everything ready to bring Davey to his new home. However, Davey finally made it to Hawaii with no complications along the way. The above photo is of Davey in his new home in Hawaii.
Well done Davey! We hope you'll be happy in your new home!!
