Anan Dogs Rescue Fund
2007/12/01
On November 22 we were notified about a case
concerning 48 dogs. 3 dogs (2 puppies and 1 very sick adult) were relinquished into our care on the 26th. We took the adult to the Vet immediately and she was diagnosed with advanced filaria (heartworm) with little chance of recovery. 3 litres of abdominal fluid were drained from her abdomen. Sadly, she will have to be euthanized in the near future.Time is of the essence for the other 45 dogs. Filaria is transmitted by mosquitos and any dogs living in the same enviornment has a very high chance of having contracted it. The earlier we can treat it, the better the chance of recovery. The number of dogs we can rescue depends on our resources. We need all the help we can get in order to save the Anan dogs.
