HEART TOKUSHIMA

Humane Education, Adoption and Rescue Tokushima

In Tokushima 7000 cats and dogs are disposed of by gas at the local pound every year. Hundreds of dogs are left chained by their owners 365 days a year.  Thousands more struggle to survive as strays.....

HEART is a not for profit organization run solely on a volunteer basis and funded entirely through donations.  We are based in Tokushima, Japan and our aim is to build a community in which companion animals can live free from suffering or cruelty. Our activities include rescue, care and re-homing of stray, abandoned, abused and neglected animals.  We also promote spay/neuter and responsible pet ownership through education and supportive means.

HEART was founded in 2006 with the long-term goal of developing an animal rescue center in the shikoku area and decreasing the stray dog and cat population through spay/neuter.
